How to develop products with the brand Alessi customer ?

The first job after growing up, all kinds of flatware have become an important part of life. From the age of 16 until now, every stainless steel spoon, fork and knife has been the beginning of a beautiful vision. Developed and designed by Alessi.

1. Receive the customer's drawings → Engineering design (from the product structure to the product realization drawings and product size analysis to every detail by step by step)

2. Some of the processes of the products made according to the drawings cannot be realized in production. As the engineering department of our factory, we need to make modifications. For example:

The assembly of forks, spoons, knives and handles

The original design was to use the injection molding process for the metal parts and the handle parts

Problems in production:

1) The surface of the metal parts was scratched after injection molding

2) There were many defects in the production of the metal parts and the handle parts through injection molding, and there were problems of plastic leakage at the gap between the handle and the metal parts

3) The loss rate was 20-30%

Solutions:

1) The surface of the metal parts was polished to a high-gloss mirror finish, like a mirror

2) The injection molding process was changed to an assembly process. The metal parts and the handle openings were designed with a stepped trapezoidal shape for positioning, and the stainless steel cutlery was perfect without any gaps

3) The loss rate was controlled at 0.1%

The Alessi handle needs to have a texture similar to that of ceramic, and the handle grip is made of ABS.

Our solution is to injection-mold finished products using ABS with added special materials.

Small-batch production
